Photo Gallery
The photograph gallery for the City and Suburban tennis league. The first set of pictures have been kindly forwarded to me by Sue Simcock, the leagues current chair, and with the help of Maisie Hudson they've been able to identity quite a number of past and past players that feature on the photographs. To view the photos in full click the picture of your choice...
Following on from these photographs, are a couple of photos kindly supplied by Graham Barlow taken at the Knypersley 2001 play tennis event which was held on June 16th.
There are also some photographs taken at the 1993 Volkswagen National Championships held at Telford where my sister Wendy Barker was able to get some shots of old British favourites Jo Durie and Jeremy Bates.

1993 Volkswagen National Championships
As well as watching the tennis Wendy had the opportunity to get some coaching from former British favourites John Lloyd and Annabel Croft, who were running a number of caoching clinics. In fact Mr Lloyd, even at the age of 39 still managed to compete and reached the semi-finals of the doubles event, where he partnered a young 16 year old, Jamie Dalgado. Wendy is pictured with John Lloyd.
Ex British number 1 Jeremy Bates pictured after his comprehensive 6-0 6-3 win over Luke Milligan. Bates played and beat the then relative unknown Tim Henman in the next round before going on to win the title. Wendy also saw Andrew Foster in action, a guy who managed to reach the last 16 of Wimbledon during the 90's. Chris Bailey, now a BBC commentator and noted for his brave performance against Goran Ivanisevic at Wimbledon some years ago, was also spotted in action.
Jo Durie and Claire Wood after they had defeated Annabel Croft and Valda Lake 6-1 6-1, in their Quarter Final match. They surprisingly lost the final, but there was some consolation for Claire Wood who managed to win the singles title.
