2002 Season Review

Season Report - May 13th

Ladies Leagues

Division 1
With a quarter of the campaign now complete, both ladies divisions promise to be as exciting as last years. In Division 1 Abbey View A have opened up a slender 1½ points lead over Stone and Basford, with just 3½ points seperating top from bottom.

Division 2
In Division 2 it appears that the one promotion place up for grabs will become a three horse race, with just 1 point between Florence, Abbey View B and Endon B.

Mens Leagues

Uri Geller To The Rescue!!!
Uri Geller At Bucknall
With both Bucknall teams making inauspicious starts to the season, desperate times call for desperate measures. So in typical Uri Geller style and to release all the dark clouds, bad vibes and evil spirits hanging over the club, simply move your mouse five times around the image of Uri, and say repeatedly "A Win For Bucknall on Wednesday night". It just can't fail can it?!
Division 1
In Division 1 there is a familiar look to the top of the table with Knypersley A leading the way with 13 points from 4 matches. They are closely followed by Florence A and last years champions Draycott A, who have both won their opening 3 contests. At the other end of the table Endon B remain pointless after 4 games, with just 1 point between the next 3 sides.

Division 2
The Borough A have made a storming start to the season in Division 2 amassing 13½ points from their first 4 games. Having been relegated from Division 1 last year, Florence B have made a good start and currently lie second, as have Westlands who have 3 victories from 3 games. There is just 1½ points difference from bottom placed team Basford B and 6th placed Knypersley C.

Division 3
Having suffered the disappointment of missing out on promotion by the narrowest of margins for the last two years, Alsager FR A have set off as though they hope to make it third time lucky and head Division 3. Just 2½ points separate the top five teams in what looks to be a very close division. Propping up the league are Bucknall B who have acquired one point per game from their opening 4 matches.

Division 4
Division 4 has a distinctly 'Florency' feel to it with 3 of the top 4 slots occupied by teams from Florence. Their 'D' team currently lead the way with 11 points from 4 games, just ½ a point in front of their 'E' side who are a further 1 point ahead of Endon D. Alsager find themselves at the foot of the table, although they are only ½ a point behind last years wooden spoonists Abbey View D.
